At Hope Harbor, our mission is rooted in love, hope and action. We provide support, guidance, and a sense of family to children in Oklahoma and neighboring states who are navigating challenging circumstances. When parents are unable to meet their children’s needs, we step in to cultivate a nurturing environment where healing and growth are possible.
On October 6, 1946, a spark of hope was ignited in North Tulsa. A group of Christians, driven by love and a desire to create change, announced their vision of establishing a children’s home. Just one year later, that vision became reality. With one house and three children, a foundation of care and compassion was laid. By May 1948, the home expanded, welcoming 20 children into its safe and loving environment.
From these humble beginnings, Hope Harbor was born—a place where children and families could find not only shelter but also healing and a renewed sense of purpose.
For more than 75 years, our mission has been guided by faith. Love and compassion are cornerstones of everything we do. We believe that hope is a gift to be given and nurtured—a powerful force that transforms lives and redirects futures.
By fostering a space where children experience healing and belonging, we work toward our ultimate goal of restoring purpose and creating brighter tomorrows, together.
Hope Harbor is overseen by the Blue Star Church of Christ elders, Larry Caton, Jim Dalton, Gene Sneed and Keith Thornton.
At Hope Harbor, we’re proud to be led by a compassionate and dedicated team of leaders who are committed to making a meaningful impact.

Hope Harbor is a place where children in foster care find healing, support, and a path forward. By connecting them with a community of faith and love, we help restore relationships and provide them with the tools they need to thrive.
We believe in cultivating an environment of belonging—a space filled with kind words, understanding hearts, and listening ears. It’s not just about addressing immediate needs; it’s about planting seeds of hope that flourish into brighter futures.
When you support Hope Harbor—whether through your time, donations, or prayers—you become a part of something bigger. You uplift children in foster care who need encouragement and healing, and you give hope to families striving for restoration.
