Light the Way: A Season of Renewal at Hope Harbor

It’s after midnight when the knock comes. Eight-year-old Tonya clutches her little sister Tessa’s hand while Trent, just six, tries to be brave. In minutes, their world changes… three small children carried from chaos into the unknown.

But that night, they don’t end up in a cold office or a temporary shelter. They arrive at Hope Harbor.

A warm porch light greets them. Inside, a soft lamp glows beside a neatly made bed, not too bright, not too crowded. Just safe. A new plush friend waits on the blanket. A foster family, called by faith and love, whispers, “You’re welcome here.”

At Hope Harbor, we believe the first step toward healing begins with a place that feels safe, gentle, and full of grace. Every child deserves a cozy, uncluttered room — designed with trauma-informed care in mind — where they can breathe, rest, and begin to trust again.

This Giving Tuesday, your generosity will:

• Furnish homes with warm, child-friendly decor
• Provide trauma-informed bedrooms designed to comfort and calm
• Wrap foster families and children in a spirit of love and belonging

Every bed, lamp, and blanket tells a child: “You matter. You are safe. You are loved.”

Together, we can make their first night at Hope Harbor , and every night after, a step toward wholeness.

God’s provision has been faithful and unmistakable throughout this journey. We trust Him to provide for these needs, but we also know He works through the hands and hearts of His people.

As we prepare for the new year, we’re also planning to repurpose a large existing space to serve our foster families better. This project will create dedicated areas for:

• After-school programs
• Child-centered activities
• Training and family support

To make this vision a reality, we need to raise an additional $50,000 to add partitions and replace 25-year-old carpet.

When combined with the $40,000 needed to furnish the new homes, our total Giving Tuesday goal is $90,000.
